While NELA Internet Marketing has only been in business since 2013, the owner, Mary Kay Young, has worked online since the late 1990s. She began with the creation of websites for fun, then for ministry, and finally for business purposes. She and her late husband, Ken, started, established, and then sold quite a few lucrative businesses.
The final step in the process was when they began creating sites and doing search engine optimization for other companies.
When she found herself working alone, Kay went into real estate for several years. She utilized what she had learned and honed those skills to market to online customers. With the advent of social media, she tackled the task of learning the best ways to make use of these new frontiers.
Having gone as far as she could on her own, she began college and earned a degree in Business and Technology. When lead generating for a real estate team she averages 30 raw leads per day.
The one thing that she saw that limited so many local businesses was a lack of funds available to build and market a site. Having faced that obstacle many times, she determined to build a business with reasonable rates in order to help small local businesses, and new startups, to thrive.
